Perception is a mere electrochemical process via which our brain makes an interpretation of the world around us, filling gaps based on the information available to us and our emotional response. We feel, think and perceive our surrounding in a subjective and partial way that we assume as absolute truth. We unintentionally chose to be blind to our own perception and prefer spending our energy in figuring out what the world may think of us, and in the process fail to see what is truly lies before our eyes. This paradox fascinates me partly because I cannot comprehend it and partly because I, like anyone else am victim of it. Through my artwork, I explore the intersect between perception and reality and how this affects the self-concept and the way we define ourselves.
